In any form of research, you are required to collect data either through calculation or qualitative descriptions. These two types of research methods are referred to as quantitative and qualitative means of data collection.
observation
To
collect data qualitatively, the researcher can do an observation with a sample
from the target population to get new insights and gain in-depth understanding
on the topic under research. Observations permit the researcher to collect non-verbal primary
data that cannot be measured numerically, and enable him to formulate
hypotheses that ought to be tested later on in the quantitative data collection.
Research Tools
Qualitative versus Quantitative Research
When
collecting data, the researcher needs to decide upon the type of research to be used to get information. there exist mainly three types of research: qualitative, quantitative and mixed-methods approach.
Data Collection (Part I): Primary/ Secondary
In data collection is a process through which the researcher can gather information. it is divided mainly in two types: Primary and secondary data. Each one of them has its strengths and weaknesses that make them different in significant ways.
